Woven in rattan and often embellished with buttons for color and surface design the new BIRDnest forms evolved from his signature BASKETbowl sculptures featured in the Museum Gallery on West Main.
Shaffner has been represented by KMAC since 1983 and studied traditional Japanese basket making with fiber artist and author Hisako Sekijima at Brookfield Craft Center in Connecticut.
